Underground Chinese Catholic Community: Photographs by Lu Nan
February 12 – May 1, 2011
Chinese photographer Lu Nan has spent his career documenting humanitarian issues in his native country. The photographs in this exhibition focus on the community of underground Chinese Catholics that formed after the Communists came to power in 1949. Although some state-sponsored Catholic churches remain, many people choose to practice their faith in secret.
