For[e]ward

April 17, 2018 – May 12, 2018

Opening Reception: Saturday April 21st, 2:00-5:00p.m.

In this exhibition of work by Loyola’s graduating seniors in Fine Arts, we find a glimpse into many worlds. Here, the familiar becomes strange while the intimate rises to the surface. Works range from personal to political, nostalgic to provocative. Yet each of these artists explores the many layers of the self, investigating the cultural and social phenomena that facilitate the formation of identity. Here at the precipice of their careers as artists, this exhibition recognizes the forward momentum that has helped these students arrive at this work, and serves as a foreword to the next chapter of their lives.

Loyola University Museum of Art is proud to host For[e]ward, one of two concurrent public exhibitions which are the conclusion of the capstone experience for Fine Arts majors at Loyola University Chicago. Let’s get lost, hosted by the Ralph Arnold Gallery, can be seen concurrently at the Lake Shore campus.
