De Humanum: The Collages of Balint Zsako
February 12 – May 1, 2011
New York-based contemporary artist Balint Zsako creates intricate and seamless collages using botanical prints and atlases of human anatomy by Bernhard Siegfried Albinus (1697–1770), Jean Baptiste Marc Bourgery (1797–1849), and Nicolas Henri Jacob (1782–1871). This series of collages, commissioned by local collector Richard Harris, conveys themes of absurdity and humor present in much of Zsako’s work.
