SUFEO (Stand Up For Each Other!)

Stand Up for Each Other Chicago (SUFEO) is an initiative led by law students to address school suspensions of pre-K through high school students in the Chicago area. The goal of the organization is to reduce the use of out-of-school suspensions and keep young people in school and on track to graduate. SUFEO runs a hotline and the hotline number is 773-800-0338. SUFEO advocates and teaches parents how to communicate with administrators effectively and coaches parents on their rights. Through SUFEO, law students also advocate for students in the suspension appeal and school reintegration processes. SUFEO Chicago is a joint project of the Civitas ChildLaw Clinic and the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
