Christina M. Mahoney
Title/s: Assistant Attorney General, Northern District Supervisor
Christina is an Assistant Attorney General for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, and is currently the Northern District Supervisor of the Public Aid Bureau, managing a team of Assistant Attorneys General serving the northern district of Illinois in child support, probate, and Medicaid cases administered by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. Christina has been an AAG with the office since 2004, starting out in the Criminal Appeals Bureau, and moving on as a staff AAG with the Public Aid Bureau, and then moving to prosecuting felony drug crimes with the Statewide Grand Jury Bureau. In 2014, Christina was promoted to Supervisor and returned to the Public Aid Bureau to manage its attorneys and cases. Christina began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in Boston, Massachusetts, where she prosecuted numerous misdemeanor and felony crimes. During her time in Boston, she also worked as a solo practitioner, focusing on criminal and family law, and subsequently joined the law firm of Denner O’Malley, as a senior associate, practicing criminal law on both the state and federal levels, until her move to Chicago in 2004.
