Laura B. Hardwicke
Title/s: Attorney, Pro Bono Network
Ms. Hardwicke is an attorney with Pro Bono Network, an organization that partners with legal aid agencies to provide pro bono representation throughout Cook County. In that capacity, Ms. Hardwicke represents clients seeking plenary orders of protection at Maywood Courthouse (LAF and Sarah's Inn), works on behalf of jail clients for Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers, staffs the Expungement Desk at Daley Center (Cabrini Green Legal Aid), represents elders at Senior Clinics (Center for Disability and Elder Law), and teaches urban school children in the program, Lawyers in the Classroom (Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago).
A graduate of Loyola Law, Ms. Hardwicke was Editor-in-Chief of the Loyola Law Journal. She clerked for the Honorable Mary Jane Theis, Illinois Appellate Court, First District. She began her career as a bankruptcy associate with Ross & Hardies. She has taught legal writing for many years at Loyola. Ms. Hardwicke also worked in the publishing industry and continues to provide editorial and writing assistance to many organizations on a pro bono basis.
A long-time resident of the Oak Park and River Forest communities, Ms. Hardwicke is a vigorous proponent of equity and opportunity parity for all school children.
