Deborah J. Baker
Title/s: Litigation Counsel, Upright Law
Deborah (“Dee”) Baker holds the position of Litigation Counsel at Upright Law, a nationwide consumer bankruptcy law firm, and is also a volunteer member of the Diversity Scholarship Foundation Continuing Legal Education Committee. Previously, Deborah worked as an Assistant Attorney General in the Illinois Attorney General’s Office where she represented the state, its agencies, and state employees in the United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois. Prior to serving as an Assistant Attorney General, Deborah Baker worked as an Associate Attorney at Goldberg Weisman Cairo and a Staff Attorney for several appointed Commissioners at the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. During law school, Deborah Baker competed in the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition and was an Associate Editor of the Children’s Legal Rights Journal.
