Helen Kim Skinner is presently a staff attorney at the Federal Defender Program in Chicago, where she works as a court appointed attorney for individuals charged with federal crimes in the Northern District of Illinois. She is also the field placement supervisor for students obtaining a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University, and she is a team member in the James B. Moran Second Chance Act Program (CHANCE Program). She also teaches part-time at Loyola University in the School of Social Work.

Before joining the F.D.P. in 2002, Mrs. Skinner received J.D./M.S.W. from Loyola University in 1997. She worked as a court coordinator for Judge Patricia Martin in Cook County Juvenile Court for one year, then, from 1998-2002, she was an attorney with the Cook County Public Defender’s Office from 1998-2002 in the Abuse/Neglect and Delinquency Divisions of the Juvenile Court.
