Why did you decide to attend Loyola’s Weekend JD program?
This program gives me the opportunity to have a JD degree while continuing on my career and still have balance in my personal life. The Weekend JD Program’s schedule is the perfect combination for me. I highly value the classroom time and the benefits of face-to-face interactions, and I really appreciate the flexibility to set my own schedule and timing for some of the learning. When you have a full-time job, a family to care for, and own personal needs, this flexibility is priceless.

What do you like best about the program?
Besides the location? It truly has a community feel.  My classmates, the faculty—the staff at Baumhart Residence Hall—everyone involved in the program is helping each other and working to ensure the best  for the students. The environment is very professional and respectful, but also friendly and accepting.

What do you plan to do with your law degree?
I would like to say in-house and pursue general counsel or other high-level legal positions in corporations (e.g. chief legal officer, chief compliance officer, etc.)

What advice can you give prospective students interested in applying to Loyola’s Weekend JD program?
The flexible schedule and on-line component of the Weekend JD Program are very beneficial for me. To be successful we may need to adjust our learning and studying style to this hybrid program. It is not difficult, it just takes some focus and practice.

In five words or less, describe Loyola University Chicago School of Law
Wealth of knowledge, accepting, respectful, and kind.

Other information (hobbies, interests, family, etc.)
I live in Sheboygan, WI, near Lake Michigan, with my husband, a physical therapist assistant, and 8-year old daughter. My parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, everybody is still back in Turkey so we visit them every year. My husband, my daughter, and I all have our individual interests. My husband is a pure nature-lover and I am a true city slicker. Our daughter is somewhere in between (I am still working on her). But we all have on hobby in common for sure: movies!
