Tara Shewchuk is Vice President of Ethics and Compliance for Medtronic’s Restorative Therapies Group (RTG) and Spinal businesses.  Prior to serving in this role, she was Senior Director of Compliance for Abbott’s Pharmaceutical Products Group.  In addition to working in the life sciences sector, Ms. Shewchuk implemented and managed compliance programs on the provider side, including as Vice President of Compliance / Privacy & Security Officer for a large integrated delivery network of nine hospitals and 17,000 employees in the Chicago area.  Ms. Shewchuk developed and taught the courses “Corporate Compliance in Health Care” and “Bioethics and the Law” for Loyola University Chicago Law School, and she currently serves as Thesis Advisor to candidates for Loyola’s Masters of Law degree.  In addition to her hospital experience, Ms. Shewchuk served in policy roles for several medical associations, including the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

Ms. Shewchuk has a law degree from McGill University, a Masters of Health Law from Loyola University and completed a Fellowship in Clinical Medical Ethics from the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine.  She has presented and published on various ethics and policy topics both nationally and internationally.  Ms. Shewchuk currently resides with her husband and three children in Germantown, Tennessee.
