1L-Alumni Mentoring Program

The 1L- Alumni Mentoring program helps students achieve greater academic success during their law school experience. The program seeks to expand first year students' knowledge beyond the classroom by providing opportunities for alumni to share personal insight and experiences with students, as well as to provide a positive mentoring and professional relationship. 

Program Overview

  • Mentors will be asked to serve for one calendar year starting in January. 
  • Mentors and students will be paired based on the information provided on the Mentor Registration Form and Student Registration Form.
  • Mentors and students will meet at Kick-off Dinner at the start of the program

Suggested Mentoring Activities

  • Answer questions and concerns about law school, exams, and practice areas
  • Bring student along to observe court proceedings, a deposition, or a closing argument
  • Offer guidance with course selection
  • Critique student's resume
  • Conduct a mock job interview
  • Discuss your area of practice
