John Anders

John Anders is a second year law student originally from Mount Prospect, Illinois.  He holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Notre Dame.  After graduating in 2011, John went on to serve as a teaching fellow while earning a graduate degree in Education through Notre Dame's Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE).  During his time in ACE, John taught middle school mathematics and social science for two years in Jackson, Mississippi.  John moved back to the Chicagoland area in 2013 to teach high school mathematics at Rauner College Prep, a Noble Network Charter School.  John is a Part-time Evening student and serves as a section representative for the Student Bar Association (SBA).


Ama Gyimah

Ama is a second year law student. She moved to Chicago from Florida and attended the University of Florida. She majored in Political Science with a minor in African Studies and a Political Campaigning certificate. Ama is interested in health law and is a member of the Health Law Society at Loyola. She is also involved with The Black Law Student Association and President of the Women's Law Society. In her free time, she enjoys watching her New England Patriots play and enjoys going for runs along Lake Michigan.

Meghan Murphy

Meghan is a second year law student and originally from the southwest suburb of Mokena, IL. She graduated from the University of Miami in 2015 where she was a member of Women’s Varsity Swimming. She earned her BA in English Literature with minors in Business Law and Public Relations. She is now back in Chicago hoping to begin a career in corporate and business law.  When not in the library, you can find Meghan at brunch, at a White Sox game or staring at the maps app while wandering through the city.

Payal Patel

Payal Patel is a second year law student at Loyola and a dual degree JD/MBA candidate. She is an Associate Editor on the Loyola University Chicago International Law Review and a competitor on Loyola’s Transactional and IP LawMeets teams. She is also a brief writer and oralist for Loyola’s Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition team. Payal is also one of the Chairs of the Public Interest Law Society Auction.

Payal became interested in law because she loves solving real world problems. She loves taking things that are seemingly dysfunctional and applying her knowledge and experience to make them better. In essence, she wants to help others grow and realize their own greatness. Payal is originally from Toronto, Canada. Before law school, she worked at a provincial agency for the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. She attended McGill University in Montreal and has a Bachelor of Arts & Science in political science and psychology. She loves spending time with her family, her friends and her Netflix account.

Michael Simonet

Michael graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota where he majored in marketing and minored in philosophy. During his time at St. Thomas, Michael worked on and off at a personal injury law firm. Michael came to law school right after undergrad and his legal interests include alternative dispute resolution, corporate law, and real estate law. Michael currently serves as treasurer for the Student Bar Association (SBA). When not seated next to a stack of textbooks, Michael enjoys exploring Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods, running near the lake, and eating large quantities of deep dish pizza.

Sarah Stewart

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Sarah earned her BS in Finance from the University of Alabama. Upon graduation in 2013, Sarah was an AmeriCorps member with Impact America and served the Birmingham community and surrounding counties. The next year, Sarah was promoted within the organization and served as their sole Fiscal Officer, gaining firsthand experience accounting for a multi-million-dollar non-profit entity.  Her interests include intellectual property law, corporate transactions, and litigation. Sarah also plans to pursue the JD/MBA dual degree program while enrolled at Loyola. In addition to serving as a Student Ambassador, Sarah is a representative for the Business Law Society and Women’s Law Society. Outside of school, Sarah enjoys teaching herself to cook, watching Pixar movies, and exploring the city of Chicago!
