Options for using R off-campus

Option Availability
Install on Personal Computer Available for anyone to download for no charge via your preferred CRAN mirror. Download from the institution closest to LUC (Iowa State). Available for a wide variety of UNIX platforms, Windows, and MacOS.
Remote Access - Apporto Available via the Apporto General Lab Desktop to students and faculty.
Remote Access - VPN Available to faculty who are remotely connecting to their LUC desktop and have requested an install of the software.

Manuals for R can be download as PDF or EPUB files or directly browserd as HTML. The R FAQ is the general collection of R FAQs and contains information for users on all platforms (Linux, Mac, Unix, Windows).

Support for R

  • To report issues with R in computer labs or on faculty/staff desktops, contact the ITS Service Desk at ITSServiceDesk@luc.edu.
  • Our group provides support throughout the academic year; support for R is limited to the current adviser's knowledge of the software.
