On-Campus Printing

MobilePrint allows students and the Loyola community to print from any device to our authorized printers throughout our campus locations. Documents can be sent via email and printed from not only on-campus computer labs, kiosk locations, but also from personal devices such as laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. Print jobs can then be retrieved from our on-campus MobilePrint station printers. With a variety of ways to submit your print jobs, review the sections below for full information and instructions.

Printing from your Laptop or Mobile Device

You can email documents you wish to print from your personal devices, without having to ever log into a lab workstation! Follow these instructions:

You Must send the email from your Loyola University e-mail account (UVID@luc.edu) which uses your University ID (UVID). Non-Loyola email accounts will not work with MobilePrint. Login to Outlook with your UVID:

Attach your file(s) you wish to print in the email. It's recommend to leave the Body blank. If you wish to print text directly from your email (without any attachments), the body message must be at least 50 characters long. Supported file types for printing via email inlcude: Adobe PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Images (.bmp, .jpg, .png, .gif) and Text (.csv, .rtf, .txt).

You will receive a confirmation email once your documents are ready and available. Visit an on-campus lab or kiosk location, swipe your Loyola ID Card to pay and release your print jobs.

If you wish to print copies of documents, or single-sided, review the next section for uploading files to MobilePrint.luc.edu.

Printing via MobilePrint.luc.edu Uploads

Note that you must login on-campus, either connected to the LUC wireless network, or on an on-campus lab or classroom workstation.

Upload your file(s) you wish to print in the email. Supported file types for printing via email inlcude: Adobe PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Images (.bmp, .jpg, .png, .gif) and Text (.csv, .rtf, .txt).

  • Prints will default to Black & White and Double-sided (duplex)
  • For each uploaded file, you can select and change settings including Color, single-sided (simplex), and # of copies.

After saving these changes, you will receive confirmation emails for uploads and when the documents are updated and ready to be printed. Visit an on-campus lab or kiosk location, swipe your Loyola ID Card to pay and release your print jobs. Note there are limited color printers on campus, review our MobilePrint locations to find a color printer.

Double-Sided Printing by Default

All standard Black & White printers are set to print double-sided (duplex) by default as this method reduces waste of paper and supplies, in support of our Sustainability initiatives. As this method removes the need for additional sheets, the cost for duplex printing is discounted when compared to printing two single-sided documents. If you wish to print single-sided (simplex), instead of the double-sided (duplex) default, be cognizant that this will result in a higher cost for the print job as described in the Printing Costs section.
