The Walgreen Family Virtual Hospital, located on the 3rd floor of the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, is a 7,000-square-foot facility with six, state-of-the-art simulation bays, each complemented by a control room and a debriefing room. It also offers a reception area, a prep room with a Pyxis drug dispenser, and an “apartment” for home health visit training.
The virtual hospital is used for high-fidelity simulations using manikins, standardized patient encounters, task training, and telehealth. The space is highly adaptable, including some movable walls.
The CSE maintains an extensive inventory of equipment and supplies to meet the needs of a wide variety of simulation modalities. We are happy to assist with obtaining additional equipment or supplies as needed for a specific training or simulation.
