About

I chose Loyola’s Public History program because the department enables its graduate students to build on a vast foundation of learning resources. We have the opportunity to work with multiple agencies, organizations, and institutions in order to become practicing historians in the public sphere. Because of my experience at Loyola and my interest in working for Native American communities, I completed a funded internship at the Repatriation Department at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian. In short, I have no doubt that while pursuing my graduate degree, the community I built at Loyola opened my eyes to the endless possibilities in our field. Because of the relationships we built together, I know we will also continue to support one another along the way.
