What are some of your interests and involvement outside the Gannon Scholars program?

I am very involved in the Center for Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. I was part of SOAR (Seizing Opportunities for Academic Resilience) program, which facilitated my college transition, and I am also a LUCES (Loyola University Chicago Empowering Sisterhood) Scholar. I am part of the club and safe space of Undocumented and Proud. This upcoming semester I will be part of Residence Life as an Resident Assistant.

How have you benefited from the Gannon Scholars program?

The Gannon Center has allowed me to expand my horizons in diverse ways. I have developed a new understanding and meaning of what it means to be a feminist. My network skills have also grown as I have been introduced and connected with many people who have positively influenced my experience. I was able to start doing research with Loyola professor Dr. Maria Vidal de Haymes my first semester because of this program.
