What are some of your interests outside of the Gannon Scholars? I love tutoring at a local organization for young refugee women called GirlForward. This gives me a sense of perspective about where I'm at and who I am, and it is an incredible feeling to work with people who are so passionate about their own education. I enjoy doing research in many forms but have particularly enjoyed my economic research because it gives me a bit of insight into what sorts of things I may be looking at in the future. I also love reading, writing, walking, biking, and generally exploring and enjoying the city of Chicago.

How have you benefited from the Gannon Scholars program? I think knowing that there is always a group of women willing to support you – and sometimes call you out – is the most important piece of the Gannon Scholars program to me. It was nice to know I already had a support system when I arrived at Loyola.
