August 2022 Focus on Teaching and Learning Conference

Being Authentic Educators: Presence in Today’s Teaching and Learning Context

Wednesday, August 17th, 2022
8:30am-1:45pm
Water Tower Campus

Description of Conference Theme:

Over the past several semesters, educators have continuously adjusted their teaching to be responsive to students’ needs in a variety of ways, some of which are new and innovative to us. Some educators have found these adjustments invigorating and have reported thinking about student learning in new ways. At the same time, those very educators have also reported feeling exhausted and worn down. In either case, we are called to provide our students with a learning experience beyond the rote delivery of content. Our students need us to truly be with them, fully, intentionally, and authentically. To this end, how do educators keep showing up for themselves and for their students?
