Katie won a Fulbright mtvU award for the 2008-2009 year, to study Mexico's musical past. She is now working on her doctorate in Media, Technology, and Society at Northwestern University, while continuing to serve as a Fulbright Alumni Ambassador.

The panel was introduced by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and included Clay Pell of the U.S. Department of Education; Henry Bienen, President Emeritus of Northwestern University; and Shai Reshef, President of the University of the People.

The online application for the U.S. Fulbright Student program opened on May 1, 2013.  Students interested in applying for a Fulbright grant should review the site, and contact us for detailed information on the campus process.
