Classroom Disengagement: Strategies and Supports for Instructors
The Office of Online Learning and the Faculty Center for Ignatian Pedagogy invited all faculty, staff, and graduate students in instructional roles at Loyola to a webinar during fall 2022 to learn how to effectively and compassionately address classroom disengagement.
As a Jesuit university, we are called to bring the spirit of cura personalis to all corners of the university, including the classroom, where we strive to care for students’ academic success and their well-being alike. Learn strategies to care for the whole person as we reacclimate to university life.
Centered on faculty and instructor experiences at LUC, this webinar provided information, guidance, and strategies for addressing classroom disengagement. Representatives from Academic Affairs, the Office of Online Learning, the Faculty Center for Ignatian Pedagogy, the Wellness Center, The Office of the Dean of Students, the Student Accessibility Center, faculty colleagues, and others answered questions and provided strategies to mitigate student disengagement
