Aisha Raees
I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. I completed my A-levels in Karachi and travelled to the states to pursue my undergraduate education at Hanover College. After graduating with a B.A., majoring in Philosophy, I went on to Southern Illinois University Carbondale to complete my M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy. Throughout my graduate career I have been actively involved as a member of the project screening team for the Association for the Development of Pakistan, linking donors to worthy NGOs. In several projects I have worked with organizers to better their curriculum, taking into account the socio-economic and religious environment of their location. I also ran the philosophy club at the local high school in Carbondale. While I was working on my Ph.D. I moved away from Carbondale for personal reasons and lived in Kansas. While in KS, I worked at a visual cognition lab at Kansas State University. I also took classes focusing mainly on perception and research methods, within the psychology department at K-State. When I was closer to defending I started to teach philosophy in Kansas City and then Chicago. After I graduated with my Ph.D. I started working at Arrupe College and have been here since.
