Building a purposeful and meaningful next chapter

The world of family business has long focused on the challenges of the successor in stepping into leadership and following in the footsteps of their parents.  Little time has been spent understanding the challenges of their parents, aunts, and uncles as they transition out of day to day roles to meaningful roles that will sustain them in their next stage of life.  Through a dynamic curriculum based in peer to peer learning, case-based discussions, and personal coaching participants will explore questions such as:

  • How do I move from production to generativity to legacy?
  • How do we concretely enact our succession plan?
  • Who am I when I no longer have my operating role?
  • How do I identify what is most important for me to accomplish in the coming years to create the legacy that I want to leave behind.
  • What is my picture for the next phase of my life?
  • What governance systems need to be in place in order to support a healthy transition?
  • How do I assure that my estate plan will support healthy family relationships as well as minimizing my tax burden?
