  • Brought faculty concerns about tenure and promotion clocks and research funds during the COVID-19 crisis to the Provost
  • Drafted extensive proposed revisions to the Faculty Handbook, including reforms of the grievance and dismissal procedures and more inclusive language throughout
  • Brought concerns about the change in health insurance to Aetna to the President, reconstituting the benefits advisory committee
  • Asserted the importance of shared governance to the upper administration
  • Compiled and evaluated faculty salary data 
  • Participated in the successful search for a new Provost
  • Discussed the educational ramifications of the retirement incentive program (VTIP)
  • Informed the University President about the water damage and mold in the library storage facility
  • Conveyed faculty concerns about the course evaluation system (since switched) and storage facility
  • Raised concerns to the Provost's Office about diversity in academic hiring
  • Met with the University President and conveyed concerns about academic strikes, the weak status of fundraising, the abortive speaker policy, and the lack of a sabbatical system
  • Selected a Faculty Member of the Year
