Research and Analytics

The Enrollment Systems, Research and Reporting (ESRR) team is divided into two main groups: Systems Analysts and Research & Strategy Analysts. The Research & Strategy Analysts are primarily responsible for conducting original research to identify, monitor, and capitalize on new enrollment trends. To this end, ESRR Research and Strategy Analysts generate primary and secondary research reports to distill actionable insights to help shape the university's enrollment policies and goals.

Furthermore, ESRR's research team collaborates with various departments to assess and enhance current, as well as to propose new academic and student services programming. The focus of much of this research is on enhancing Loyola's position within the national academic landscape by remaining responsive to the needs of an ever-changing prospective student population.

Examples of research services are available in the Primary Research, Secondary Research, and Google Analytics subsections.

ESRR also offers Consulting Services on projects that use select software platforms.

Primary Research

‌The Enrollment Systems, Research & Reporting (ESRR) team is capable of leading a broad range of primary research projects. Research methodology is contingent upon the needs of the stakeholders, but past projects have included the following primary research components: Focus Groups, Interviews, Survey Design/Administration, and Observations.

Secondary Research

‌The Enrollment Systems, Research and Reporting (ESRR) team typically conducts a broad range of secondary research. Research methodology is contingent upon the needs of the stakeholder(s), but past projects have included the following secondary research components: document analysis, internal database management, external database searches, web searches, and marketing analytics.

Below are a few examples of end deliverables ESRR has produced, including: Landscape AnalysesEnrollment & Degrees Conferred Monitoring ReportsTraditional & Social Media Analytics, and Enrollment & Retention Analyses.

  ‌

Landscape Analyses: Landscape analyses are comprehensive reviews of current or proposed academic programs tailored to an individual department by degree program. Core components of the final report are subject to change depending on the needs of the stakeholder(s), often varying from project-to-project. However, a standard landscape analysis focuses on a defined competitive set of 8-10 institutions and includes information drawn from state and federal databases, as well as institutional websites.

Enrollment and Degrees Conferred Monitoring Reports: Basic Enrollment and Degrees Conferred monitoring reports typically provide a five-year snapshot of state and national trends for specific academic programs.

Traditional and Social Media Analytics: Traditional and social media analytic reports range broadly from simple monitoring reports to more detailed accounts of specific marketing strategy trends, including: Influencer Analyses, website traffic trends, and marketing segmentation.

Enrollment and Retention Analyses: Enrollment and retention analyses focus on specific programs and departments. Enrollment reports provide a baseline understanding of current program makeup, while retention reports track student progress from initial enrollment through graduation.

Google Analytics: Enrollment Systems, Research and Reporting provides customized website visit reports for individual colleges and programs within the university using Google Analytics. These reports provide a reference point for monitoring the impact of ongoing and new marketing campaigns.

Consulting Services

ESRR can provide consulting services on the following software platforms: Tableau, Opinio, NVIVO, SPSS, Slate, LOCUS, and Google Analytics.‌
