CURL

Center for Urban Research and Learning

The Loyola University Chicago Center for Urban Research and Learning (CURL) is a non-traditional, innovative, collaborative university-community research center.   For over 20 years, CURL has worked closely with a broad range of community partners on projects addressing pressing issues such as homelessness, affordable housing, gentrification and displacement, strengthening grassroots advocacy, and human rights.  We have worked with more than 200 community partners and involved more than 500 undergraduate fellows, graduate fellows, faculty, and community partners in our research teams.   While most of its projects are focused on Chicago and the metropolitan area, CURL regularly engages in national and international partnerships.
