Appointment of Emeritus

From the Faculty Handbook, 8th Edition 2009, p. 37

The honor of emeritus or emerita status may be awarded by the Senior academic officer, upon the recommendation of the departmental chairperson, if applicable, and the dean, to a full-time member of the regular faculty upon the faculty member’s retirement from Loyola after having rendered distinguished service to Loyola for at least ten years. The title of Loyola Emeritus/Emerita is held indefinitely, unless the faculty member is employed on a full-time basis at another educational institution.
