Emergency Notification System

Loyola Alert and Advisory

At Loyola University Chicago, we take the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff very seriously. That is why we have an emergency communication system in place to help us quickly and effectively respond to crises on campus. Loyola Alert and Loyola Advisory provide time-sensitive alerts to students, faculty, staff, and other personnel in the event of imminent threats or significant incidents that could potentially disrupt operations at any of Loyola's three Chicagoland campuses.

Types of Notifications

Loyola Alert

Loyola Alert

FOR IMMEDIATE AND IMMINENT THREATS, messages titled Loyola Alert are exclusively used for on-campus incidents that pose a significant threat to life or bodily harm and require immediate action, including weather emergencies, civil emergencies, active shooters, and health emergencies as ordered by public health authorities. Loyola Alert will be used to send messages in accordance with the emergency notification requirement of the Clery Act. Current faculty, staff, and students are enrolled in Loyola Alert by default based on the information the University has on file.
