Michael Boyle, Ph.D. of Loyola’s Greeley Center for Catholic Education for the Administration and Supervision is our 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. Dr. Boyle is an international scholar and leader in Catholic school leadership.

In 2014, Dr. Boyle was named the recipient of the C. Albert Koob Merit Award by the National Catholic Education Association for significant contributions to Catholic education.

Dr. Boyle passionately supports the mission of pre-Kindergarten-12th grade Catholic schools through consultation and professional development. He supports the growth of school leaders and prepares future principals to meet the complex challenges of leading today’s Catholic schools. Under Dr. Boyle’s leadership the LUC Catholic Principal Preparation Program ensures each principal candidate becomes a mission-driven, faith-based instructional leader within the Catholic School context. Dr. Boyle’s daily work, research and scholarship supports the international efforts of building the capacity of Catholic schools. His amazing work supports schools through innovative professional development; sustains and enhances Catholic school leadership; creates inclusive approaches for Catholic schools; and advances the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Schools.

Here at Loyola within the School of Education, Mike is known as a team player and a fantastic resource for new and emerging faculty. He shares his experiences, knowledge and wisdom honestly, openly and generously and always with great humor and compassion.
