About

Debra Sullivan holds a BA in History in Education from Whittier College, a MA in Educational Administration from Rosary College (now Dominican University) as well as an EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University Chicago.  Dr. Sullivan worked for the Archdiocese of Chicago for 25 years. She began her career as a junior high history teacher at St. Philomena School near Humboldt Park.  Upon receiving her MA in Educational Administration, Dr. Sullivan moved into the role of principal, first at Our Lady of Mercy School in the Albany Park neighborhood and then at Northside Catholic Academy, a consolidated Catholic school sponsored by 6 parishes in the Edgewater, Andersonville and Rogers Park neighborhoods. Just prior to earning her EdD in Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Sullivan was recruited to move to the Office of Catholic Schools to serve as a Regional Director for the Archdiocese’s newly developed Turnaround Program.  Dr. Sullivan’s doctoral research focused on the implementation of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) in Catholic school settings.
