The Loyola Dance program is distinguished within the Chicago community and on a national level through its commitment to rigorous study of classical dance techniques. Training in ballet and modern dance, as well as the performance of demanding repertory, allows students to develop physical and artistic skills at a conservatory level while benefitting from a holistic Jesuit liberal arts education.
Students of all levels regularly perform throughout the year, and we offer several levels of ballet, modern, and pointe. Precise and formalized jazz technique courses support a minor in musical theatre as well. Through courses in history, pedagogy, choreography, kinesiology, research and more, students develop a rich and comprehensive vocabulary for a number of career opportunities in dance.
