PEP Lab

Welcome to the Private Enterprise & Peace Lab

Because private enterprise, when working collaboratively with communities, can help overcome the challenges of global violence to build peace.

Mission Statement

Violence and conflict resolution continue to be one of the greatest global challenges. This is despite the efforts of countless international organizations, government agencies, and individuals working to end the human suffering caused when conflict turns violent. Increasingly, we are observing the private sector adopting pro-peace programming into their missions, working to engage communities in ways beyond standard economic exchange.

The PEP Lab serves as an institution designed to connect this challenge with the research and teaching needs of scholars working on the topic of private enterprise and peace. It brings together faculty and students from across the globe to conduct collaborative research on the role of private enterprise in various contexts of violence, post-conflict, and peace. It conducts interdisciplinary, policy-relevant research at the intersection of economic activity and peacebuilding.
