This year's Convocation will be held on Friday, August 24, at Loyola's Lake Shore Campus.
Students will attend their floor meeting or commuter meeting on campus. These meetings are required for all new students and will provide you with important information about living on campus or commuting.
Join all new students in Loyola's annual Convocation Walk, the procession led by your student body president. The route will take you through Cudahy Library's ceremonial green doors and end at the New Student Convocation in Gentile Arena. As students approach the end of the Convocation Walk they will enter into a vibrant and spirited 'welcome tunnel' formed by members of the faculty and staff. This year's Convocation Walk will be held on Friday, August 24, at 2:45 p.m. on the East Quad. (Rain location: Gentile Arena at 4:00 p.m.)
You should also be prepared to discuss the 2018 first-year text, Finding Purpose: Environmental Stewardship as a Personal Calling by Andrew Hoffman. All new students will receive this book at their New Student Orientation or in the mail over the summer. It is important that you take time to read it so you can get the most of your discussion of the book with a Loyola faculty member at New Student Convocation. Book discussions will be held at 5 p.m. at various locations.
