Parking
Parking is very limited on campus. Each student received (1) parking pass per ceremony that can be used for their personal vehicle or guest vehicle.
Starting Tuesday, May 6, use of the Main Parking Structure located at 1110 W. Sheridan Road will be limited to graduating students and their guests. Alternatively, other Loyola community members can park in:
- Fordham Garage located at 6455 N. Sheridan Rd.
- West Loyola Lot located at 1236 W. Loyola Ave.
- Contractor’s Lot located at 1227 W. Loyola Ave.
- Louis Lot located at 1245 W. Loyola Ave. (entry is in the alley)
Public Transportation
The use of public transportation is strongly encouraged during Commencement Week. The Lake Shore Campus is conveniently located off the CTA Red Line – Loyola “L” station at 1032 W Sheridan Rd. The CTA 147 and 151 busses also drops off directly on the Lake Shore Campus.
Campus Spaces
Damen Student Center, Damen Den
Check-in location for all graduates (with the exception of doctoral and MD students). Students will pick up their student name card here. This should be the first stop for students once they arrive on campus prior to their ceremony.
Damen Student Center, Atrium
The atrium is open for all guests to enjoy. A professional photographer will be available to take photos of students. If there is inclement weather, all receptions will be moved into the atrium following each Commencement ceremony.
Damen Student Center, Sr. Jean Multipurpose Room
The Damen Student Center (DSC), Sr. Jean Multipurpose Room (MPR) will serve as the hospitality area for faculty and leadership each day of Commencement. The Sr. Jean Multipurpose Room is located on the second floor of the Damen Student Center.
The DSC MPR will also serve as a check-in and student line up room for all doctoral and MD students attending either The Graduate School ceremony or the Stritch School of Medicine ceremony. For these ceremonies, the room will be divided and faculty and leadership will have access to the south side of the room, and students will have access to the north side of the room.
Gentile Arena
Location of all ceremonies. Guests are able to access the arena 60 minutes prior to each ceremony. Guests needing accessibility seating are able to access the arena 90 minutes prior to the ceremony, with the exception of days with 3 ceremonies. All guests, including those needing accessible seating, will be able to access the arena 60 minutes prior to the start time of the ceremony on 3 ceremony days (Wednesday and Friday).
East Quad
All receptions following each ceremony will be held on the East Quad, located directly outside of the Damen Student Center and Gentile Arena.
Madonna della Strada Chapel
Location of the Baccalaureate Mass and Blessing of Graduates (Monday, May 5) and the School of Law Mass and Blessing of Graduates (Saturday, May 10).

Are confetti and glitter allowed on campus during Commencement Week?
Loyola is a beautiful campus, and your assistance is needed to ensure that all spaces and facilities remain a treasure to the University. Glitter and confetti are not permitted on campus. Click here to learn more.
How many tickets are students provided for each ceremony?
Students were able to claim up to (6) guest tickets when they registered to attend Commencement. All tickets were emailed to students in April. Please visit the ticket troubleshooting table with any specific ticket questions. Students do not need a ticket to attend their ceremony.
My guest needs accessible seating. What do I do?
Accessible seating is available for guests and (1) companion. Guests needing access to accessible seating can arrive to Gentile Arena up to 90 minutes prior to the ceremony start time to gain access early to Gentile Arena with the exception of 3 ceremony days (Wednesday and Friday). All guests, including those needing accessible seating, will be able to access the arena 60 minutes prior to the start time of the ceremony on 3 ceremony days. Please contact an event staff member onsite to request access to the arena early.
Will each ceremony be livestreamed?
Each ceremony will be livestreamed at LUC.edu/commencement.
Where do students check-in once they arrive on campus?
All students (with the exception of doctoral students attending The Graduate School ceremony and MD students attending the Stritch School of Medicine ceremony) should check-in in the Damen Den in the Damen Student Center.

Will there be a professional photographer available?
A professional photographer will be present at each ceremony and will also be available in the Damen Student Center Atrium each day of Commencement. Photographs will be emailed to students following Commencement Week.
Where do faculty and leadership check-in and pick up their regalia?
All faculty and leadership should report to the second floor of the Damen Student Center to pick-up their rental regalia (if needed). The Damen Student Center Multipurpose Room will serve as a hospitality suite for faculty and leadership to enjoy prior to the start of each ceremony.
