Ignatian Spirit Award

An excerpt from their nomination:

This year, the ePortfolio program supported almost 4,000 students, faculty, and staff.  More specifically, they provided direct support to over 150 classes, ranging from first-year students to graduate programs. The peers have done a marvelous job explaining the system through one-on-one help sessions, email, phone, or large class presentations.  They do a wonderful job articulating how to navigate the system, meeting the user where they are at, and explaining things without making anyone feel less than.  They adjust their message based on their audience, fluidly moving between faculty and students, being simultaneously approachable and respectful. They migrated and transformed the ePortfolio website to meet University requirements and added over fifteen tutorials for ePortfolio users as well as began a blog to reflect on their trials, tribulations, and success with ePortfolios.

This is what they DID.  But what makes them worthy of such an award, like the Ignatian Spirit Award, is who they ARE.

Campus partners named their work ethic, high standards, humility, and knowledge as key qualities.  They earned a reputation of being very responsive, available, patient, and helpful to student and faculty inquiries.  They made it easier for faculty and students to make the most of the system and realize the benefits of using ePortfolios.  In summary, the peers were able to reach faculty, staff, and students in a way that the Center aspired to, but had yet to, accomplish.
