The Report
The Campus Plan Report
Campus environments are dynamic and must grow and change to meet the evolving needs of its students and educators. This campus plan aims to fulfill several objectives. First, Loyola has basic physical space constraints, plain and simple – our campus facilities are not large enough to accommodate a growing campus community, both now and in the future. This limits our ability to fully support the holistic development of our students. Our students, faculty, and staff deserve spaces that enhance their academic and co-curricular success, and we are committed to ensuring our campuses are equipped to meet those needs. Second, Loyola aspires to not only serve basic requirements, but to embrace state-of-the-art approaches to teaching, learning, research, and community-building.
We are fortunate to have our Lake Shore Campus located within the Rogers Park and Edgewater neighborhoods, which adds a unique dimension to our planning efforts. We are in the midst of a community engagement process and invite you to visit our website to participate in a survey and offer ideas on how Loyola can strengthen its campus-community environment.
Over the course of the next ten years, we aspire to transform our campuses into ecosystems of learning, discovery, and personal growth that will continue to attract people to this world-class institution.
We invite you to read more about our needs assessment and our opportunities to continue to enhance Loyola in the coming years. As you explore the campus plan, please keep in mind that these plans are not set in stone; rather, they identify opportunities that merit further exploration and study. The road to improvement will not be linear and may take unexpected turns as new opportunities arise, and as resources become available.
