Discovery 

May 2023- July 2023 

The campus planning team collected and reviewed existing campus data, reports and existing drawings. Materials reviewed include items such as current and projected student enrollment, site and building surveys, facility adequacy reports, residential housing reports, laboratory adequacy reports and current space utilization. 

Campus Partner Engagement 

August 2023 – October 2023 

Members of the campus planning team engaged with a number of subject matter experts from across the institution in focus groups covering broad topics with each group, to learn what the current and future state of the physical campus enables each of them to deliver their services.  

Visioning 

October 2023 – January 2024 

The Discovery and Campus Partner Engagement phases provide the background to establishing the foundational vision for the campus plan. With these tasks completed, the campus planning team established a slate of alternatives based on the qualitative and quantitative data gathered, these alternatives were vetted with senior leadership to establish a cohesive vision to model planning alternatives around.

The campus planning team defines campus needs and develops pathways to achieving these needs for Loyola University Chicago. 

Community Focus Groups 

Ongoing 

With campus needs defined, Loyola and the campus planning team have and will continue to conduct various forums, through town hall meetings, focus groups, webpage, email newsletters and other strategies for community members to provide feedback and interact with this planning process.
