Fr. Patrick Dorsey, S.J.
San Francisco Hall, 2nd Floor
Fr. Patrick Dorsey, SJ, came to Loyola University Chicago in 2007 and worked in Campus Ministry as Director of Sacramental Life overseeing Madonna della Strada Chapel until 2013. For the past three years, Fr. Dorsey has worked in the Office of Advancement at Loyola and is moving from the VP's Office to Alumni Relations where he will work as chaplain to alumni. His office will be in Alumni House and his duties vary while serving the alumni community. He will steward donors in maintaining a heart-felt relationship with the university. Fr. Dorsey also will attend board meetings for the National Alumni, G.O.L.D Alumni, Latino Alumni, and Black Alumni. He will continue to help coordinate the acknowledgement of alums who have died and work with alums to plan to get married at Madonna della Strada Chapel.
Fr. Dorsey is familiar with the Chicago area because he grew up in Evanston, IL, and is happy to be around family. Much like his previous assignment at Marquette University, Fr. Dorsey lives in a dorm on campus (San Francisco Hall) where he is able to welcome students into his apartment for a meal.
Fr. Dorsey earned a B.A. Ed. and taught grade school for ten years before entering the Jesuits. During his years of training as a Jesuit, he studied at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, CA, where he earned an M. Div. and a Th. M. He was ordained in 1996.
