Bike to Loyola

CTA/Pace/Metra

Bringing your bike on trains and buses can increase your biking range significantly.

All CTA/PACE/Metra buses and the Loyola Campus Shuttle have bike racks on the front that accommodate two bikes at a time. Indicate to the driver that you are going to put your bike on and then follow the instructions to pull down the rack, lift your bike on the wheel well and swing the arm in place, securing your bike on the rack. Don’t forget to put the rack in the upright position once you’ve removed your bike at your destination!

On area trains, bikes are also allowed but there are specific times and accommodations that must be followed. In general bikes are NOT allowed during of rush-hour times (6:30 – 9 am and 3 – 7 pm) or during large city events (Taste of Chicago, Lollapalooza, Air and Water Show). Check with CTA or Metra for updated information.
