Shane Caterino
Managing Director, External Relations, AUSL
As AUSL's Managing Director for External Relations, Shane leads fundraising, marketing, and partnerships to support the organization's work in managing a network of 31 Chicago Public Schools, training teachers through the Chicago Teacher Residency, and advising schools nationwide. Prior to joining AUSL in 2007, Shane's work experience included fundraising and program management at two high performing, social change organizations, City Year and Public Allies Chicago. She led employee volunteer engagement programs and facilitated charitable grantmaking in her corporate philanthropic roles at PepsiCo, Pepsi Bottling Group and HSBC-North America. Shane holds a bachelors in political science from the University of Washington. Early in her career as an AmeriCorps Leader, she had the honor of serving as a Commissioner on the Illinois Commission on Community Service. In 2015, she was an Education Pioneers Visiting Fellow in Chicago and was recently selected for the 2019 Fundraising for Good Leadership Network at the Baumhart Center for Social Enterprise & Responsibility within Loyola’s School of Business. Shane and her family reside in Chicago and she is a proud CPS parent. Growing up with a mother who was a teacher in her home country and father who worked in the central office of a large public school district on the west coast, she is passionate about public education.
