Patricia Broughton

VP, Philanthropic Innovation, Girl Scouts of America of Greater Chicago and NW Indiana

In her 27 years setting fund development strategy and directing fundraising operations, Pat has raised millions of dollars for Chicago-based non-profits whose work transforms the lives of individuals and communities in the Chicago area and globally.

As Vice President for Philanthropic Innovation for Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana (GSGCNWI), Pat leads the individual giving/special events team, focusing on mission-based fundraising practices that cultivate lifelong donors.

Previously, at Girl Scouts of Chicago, Pat directed a capital campaign that revitalized two camps. At Bethel New Life, the capital campaign she directed transformed a shuttered hospital campus into a thriving community center.

Pat has been a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 1999 and serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professional (AF) Chicago Chapter as the Vice President for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA).

After earning her BSJ and MSJ from Northwestern University’s School of Journalism, Pat worked briefly as a newspaper reporter and much longer as a freelance writer and photographer. Yoga, karate, biking, gardening, cooking and outdoor adventures feed her spirit.
