Meghan Baer

Meghan Bear

Meghan Baer is the Director of Development with the University of Chicago Network for College Success (NCS). NCS works to cultivate postsecondary readiness and success for all students by translating research into practice and supporting high school leaders to organize their schools for improvement and innovation. In her role, Meghan works in collaboration with development staff to sustain and strengthen the organization’s financial outlook. Meghan is also a member of NCS’s Senior Leadership Team and Communications Committee.

Prior to joining NCS in 2012, Meghan worked with the Near West Side Community Development Corporation to support community programming and social services to over 10,000 residents on Chicago’s West Side.  She began her career at the University of Virginia, her alma mater, with the Young Women Leaders Program. Serving as the Outreach and Alumna Coordinator, Meghan spearheaded a national expansion plan for the mentoring program in twelve communities in collaboration with school administrators, local stakeholders, college students, and university personnel.

Meghan earned her B.A. in Anthropology and Studies in Women and Gender from the University of Virginia in 2006. In 2010, she graduated from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis with a Master of Social Work.
