Johanna Vetter
Chief Marketing Officer, Ounce of Prevention Fund
Johanna Vetter is the chief marketing officer at the Ounce of Prevention Fund. As CMO, Vetter is responsible for raising awareness of the importance of high-quality learning experience for all children especially those born into poverty. She is focused on engaging the early childhood education field and the public with the Ounce’s mission and solutions.
In her leadership role, Vetter is the architect of the marketing strategies and initiatives that advance the organization’s mission, and increase awareness of the critical programs, research and policies that give at-risk children the best chance for success in school and in life. In addition, she is responsible for positioning the Ounce as an innovative leader and solution partner among the early childhood education. Vetter oversees marketing, innovation, and communications.
Before her role at the Ounce, Vetter was the chief marketing officer at Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. While there, she spearheaded brand strategy, marketing and digital efforts to drive awareness and engagement for the organization and its local food bank network. She transformed the charity’s individual giving program, focused on driving high growth in online fundraising and cultivating a pipeline of major gift donors. She also oversaw the organization’s Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign in partnership with the Ad Council. The initiative was the organization’s most successful TV and radio PSA campaign in both English and Spanish, earning $350 million in donated media during her tenure.
Prior to joining Feeding America, Vetter served as vice president of marketing at Hyatt Hotels Corporation where she led strategic development and implementation of business-to-business and consumer marketing programs. She led the development and execution of all brand advertising and communications globally.
Before rising to the role of vice president, Vetter was director of advertising, responsible for developing and executing marketing communications for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts across all marketing disciplines, including advertising, direct marketing, digital and public relations.
Prior to her time at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Vetter was at Euro RSCG Chicago, where she held a number of positions and worked on a variety of accounts, including Darden Restaurants, Alberto Culver, Bayer Consumer Care and Procter & Gamble.
Vetter’s career began at Wells, Rich, Greene in New York working on Chase Manhattan Bank and Procter & Gamble.
By far, Vetter’s most rewarding accomplishment has been raising two beautiful and healthy children, along with her husband on the North Shore in Illinois.
Vetter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Providence College.
