Information Regarding Faculty Pay Increases
Nontenure-track faculty. A promotion and raise system has been in place for our full-time nontenure-track faculty (NTT) for a number of years. During the past three years, the impact of the NTT promotion system (excluding the Stritch School of Medicine) has resulted in the following:
- 62 NTT faculty were promoted with an average pay increase of $2,000/ 9-month annual contract
- 36 NTT faculty on one-year temporary appointments were appointed to full-time NTT multi-year renewable contracts
- 24 part-time faculty received appointments to full-time NTT multi-year renewable contracts
Part-time faculty. Beginning July 1, 2017, a teaching stipend increase of $200/course was implemented for all part-time faculty, except those in the College of Arts and Sciences, who are part of the SEIU Local 73 and are currently engaged in a collective bargaining process. Implications:
- 500 – Part-time faculty who received an increase for Fall 2017
- $300,000 – FY2018 estimated university investment in enhanced stipends for part-time faculty
Annual merit-based salary raises. All Nontenure-track faculty, including those in the College of Arts and Sciences, are evaluated annually for merit-based salary raises. During the past three years, (FY 2016-2018):
- 2.5-3.0 percent – average merit raises for NTT faculty
