What attracted you to Arrupe College?
What attracted you to Arrupe College? There are few places in the world of higher education that provide the level of access, academic rigor, and holistic support that are seen at Arrupe. It's truly a special place.
How did you get involved in higher education?
After starting my career as a high school social science teacher in Chicago Public Schools, I was introduced to the realm of postsecondary advising and quickly found my calling. The transition from high school to college and whatever comes next is such a pivotal time in the lives of young people. Having the opportunity to play even a small part in the positive trajectory of a young person is a feeling that is difficult to put into words. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their growth and to see them build confidence in who they are and who they might become.
What’s your favorite part about working at Arrupe? And the biggest challenge?
The people! Whether it's faculty, staff, or students—everyone you meet at Arrupe is thoughtful, generous with their time, and focused on being the best version of themselves. The biggest challenge is balancing the goal of creating a supportive environment that also pushes students to proactively create a future that they and their families will be proud of.
