Parents & Families

Loyola University Chicago is committed to helping parents and families engage with the Loyola community while also crafting rich experiences for both students and their families.

For new students, in particular, parents can visit the New Student Programs page at Loyola's website, which shares information designed to help families navigate their student’s transition into college life. This includes guides on what to expect during the first year, supporting students academically and emotionally, and getting involved with campus events.

Additionally, parents can explore the Helpful Resources for Parents page, which features links to essential services and support networks at Loyola, such as Campus Safety, the Financial Aid Office, and Career Services. These links ensure parents are well-informed and able to help students make the most of their Loyola experience.

One of the University’s signature community-building initiatives, Loyola’s Family Weekend invites families to experience Loyola’s vibrant campus life and meet other Rambler families. Family Weekend typically includes activities, such as campus tours, academic presentations, athletic events, and social gatherings. To learn more about this annual event, please visit the Family Weekend page or contact familyweekend@luc.edu or by phone at 773.508.8840. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. except during University holidays.

In addition, parents and families should encourage their students to get involved with LoyolaLinked, a mentorship and networking platform designed to drive relationships among Loyola alumni and current students. With LoyolaLinked, students can find professional connections and advice to help drive their futures.

These resources and events are designed to foster a strong connection between Loyola and the families of its students, ensuring parents feel supported and involved throughout their child's college journey. By taking advantage of these resources and programs, parents can play an active role in their student's success and well-being and help create a supportive environment that extends far beyond the classroom.
