About Us

Commuter Programs:

Loyola University Chicago defines “commuter” as undergraduate students who live at home with family or guardians and commute to campus each day.

Commuter Connect Program

Fall semester: Small monthly “fire-side chats” organized by zip codes.  Connect students from the same zip code/neighborhoods and engage in small discussion groups to help students get to know each other from same area, ride share, meet ups, etc.

Spring semester: same group gatherings, but organized out in their neighborhoods rather than on-campus

Commuter Ambassadors Program

Paid internships for current undergraduate students to work with OCSL to develop new programs, but specifically to facilitate the Commuter Connect program.

Resimuter Programs:

Loyola University Chicago defines “resimuter” as students who are junior status or above and do not live in residence halls, but live alone or with friends/non-relatives within the University district (students who live within the zip codes of 60611, 60626 or 60660).

Off-Campus Student Life Seminars (spring term)

Outreach and Support Services:

OCSL is dedicated to serving, supporting and advocating for commuting and resimuting students.  We are committed to working with students with concerns, pressing issues or special circumstances.  We will customize outreach and connection opportunities for commuting students challenged by the collegiate transition; to enhance their sense of belonging and/or ensure resource access.
