Classrooms (Rooms 105, 111, 112, 215, 216, and 230)
The classrooms in the Klarchek Information Commons are scheduled for regular University classes by the University Registrar. Any faculty wishing to use any of the classrooms for semester long classes in the IC are directed to call the University Registrar to make arrangements.
Group Study Rooms
The Klarchek Information Commons has 27 group study rooms available for use by Loyola students, faculty, and staff. The primary purpose of these rooms is to provide a place for students to engage in collaborative and cooperative study in small groups. Permanent assignment of rooms is not made to any particular academic group or social organization.
Level 4 Multi-Purpose Room
The Klarchek Information Commons multi-purpose room consists of a large open space with windows on both the east and west sides. Elevators, a coat room, and small kitchenette are located at the north end of the floor. Restrooms are located in the hall at the south end of the floor. The room is equipped with a podium and sound system. There are two projectors and two drop-down screens on the east side of the room. There is a south screen for south facing projection as well.
The maximum capacity for lecture/presentation set-ups or standing receptions is 148.
The maximum capacity for banquet style reception set-ups is 130.
M. Rita Schroeder-Barnett (BSc '58) and John Barnett (BSc '51) Library Instruction Classroom
The Library Instruction Classroom (Room 120) is located on the first floor of the Klarchek Information Commons in the south west corner of the building. The Library Instruction Classroom contains 24 PCs, an instructor work station (the same as available in all e-classrooms on campus), a white board, a smart board, and a networked printer. A standard print station is available. The classroom is configured in rows and cannot be rearranged. Extra chairs are generally available in the room, though space is limited for additional users.
