Computing Services

The Information Commons (IC) houses an array of state-of-the-art technology, equipment and applications available to the Loyola community. These services are supported by Division of Information Technology Services, and all computers are link to the University's campus-wide computer network. For immediate assistance with technology-related inquiries, visit one of the Digital Media Advisors staffing the Information Commons service desks or contact the ITS Help Desk for other technology-related support.

Software Application Support

All computers have access to a standard suite of commonly used software such as the Microsoft Office suite and Internet access. There is also a wide range of teaching software and tools utilized by different departments and schools. View the standard software applications list for all applications provided at the IC.

Printing

Printing services are available in the IC just as they are in the university's computer labs. All standard IC printers are set to print double-sided (duplex) by default as part of Loyola's green initiatives to reduce paper waste. OnePrint is a downloadable client to allow for printing from personal computers when on-campus. Technology advisors are available on each floor to provide assistance with printing.

Scanners

Scanners are available in key locations on throughout the building. Technology advisors are available on each floor to provide assistance with scanning.

Wireless

The IC is a 100% wireless building. The wireless network provides Loyola students, faculty and staff with access to the Internet using wireless-capable devices. For more details about connecting wirelessly and where wireless is available at Loyola, visit the wireless locations page.
