Pioneering Linguistically and Culturally Responsive Teacher Preparation in Illinois

Loyola’s Teaching, Learning, Leading with Schools and Communities Initial Teacher Preparation program (TLLSC) is highlighted as being the first in Illinois to equip ALL their candidates with an English-as-a-Second Language Endorsement upon graduation – preparing them to meet the linguistic and cultural diversity of the children in their classrooms. Thanks to Loyola’s School of Education and the Undergraduate Admission Office, roughly 200 eighth-graders have gotten a glimpse of university life. And, more importantly, they’ve now seen first-hand what a college education can do for them.

Dean Dantley Takes Leadership Role in AERA

Dr. Michael Dantley, School of Education Dean and Professor, has been elected the Vice President of Division A: Administration, Organization and Leadership of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) for the next three years, beginning the 2014-2015 academic year.
